What is a vocational expert?
He/she is a highly specialized forensic expert who is trained to provide concrete evidence of employability, usually to determine whether or not there is resulting economic loss, and if so how much.
Why would I need one?
In litigation, it is essential to determine early on the economic value of a case. Especially in instances involving some type of physical injury, there is likely to be a loss of earning capacity to the Plaintiff. The vocational expert can place an exact value on that loss, so that negotiations or the court can determine what amount of award is appropriate.
